About
Artist statements, an unfortunate byproduct of the MFA-industrial complex and gallery hucksterism, are uniformly terrible.
Here’s something Gerhard Richter said in 1966 that I like:
"I pursue no objectives, no system, no tendency; I have no program, no style, no direction. I have no time for specialized concerns, working themes, or variations that lead to mastery. I steer clear of directions. I don’t know what I want. I am inconsistent, noncommittal, passive; I like the indefinite, the boundless; I like continual uncertainty."
My work can be found in the Flatfile at Artspace New Haven, the Robert B. Haas Family Arts Library at Yale University, in numerous private collections, and has been featured on the websites Ain't-Bad and Connecticut Art Review.
